Soccer Recap: Intermountain Christian Comes Up Short

If Intermountain Christian was feeling good fresh off their 7-0 takedown of Wendover last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Intermountain Christian fell 5-3 to the Merit Preparatory Academy Knights on Tuesday. Intermountain Christian were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Merit Preparatory Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Eli Squire and Jonah Walters scored all three of Intermountain Christian's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 12 goals.

Intermountain Christian's defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-3. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-3.

Coming up, Intermountain Christian will welcome St. Joseph at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Joseph will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Intermountain Christian surely won't give up without a fight. As for Merit Preparatory Academy, they will look to defend their home pitch on Thursday against American Prep WV at 4:00 p.m.
