New Franklin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the nine-run drubbing they dealt Slater on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 11-2. The Bulldogs haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

New Franklin's win bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Slater, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Franklin will square off against Madison at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Slater, they will venture away from home to take on Brunswick at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
