Basketball Recap: Garces Memorial Comes Up Short

Garces Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They took a blow against the Frontier Titans, falling 70-30. The Rams were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-10.

Frontier's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alexis Tinnin led the charge by almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. What's more, Tinnin also racked up three blocks, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Rizelle Copeland, who went 7 for 15 en route to 20 points and five boards.

Garces Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 4-15. As for Frontier, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Garces Memorial has already played their next game (against Independence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Frontier will square off against Highland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Frontier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.9 points per game this season.
