Basketball Recap: Triton Takes a Loss

After soaring to 61 points the game before, Triton was a bit more limited in their matchup on Thursday. They had to suffer through a 76-25 loss at the hands of Elizabeth Seton. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 320th in North Carolina, while Elizabeth Seton are ranked third in Maryland).

Triton's loss came despite strong showings from Nashara McNeil-Watlington and Baleigh Denton. McNeil-Watlington posted 11 points, while Denton had six points. McNeil-Watlington has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played.

Triton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Elizabeth Seton, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Triton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 68-36 defeat against Seventy-First on the 27th. As for Elizabeth Seton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 72-37 victory against Apex Friendship on the 27th.
