Recap: Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams vs. Bishop Walsh Spartans
If the Turkeyfoot Valley Area Rams were feeling good off their 51-22 takedown of the Hancock Panthers on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Turkeyfoot Valley Area fell 36-23 to Bishop Walsh on Friday. While losing is never fun, Turkeyfoot Valley Area can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 601st in Pennsylvania, while Bishop Walsh is ranked 243rd in Maryland).
Several Rams players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kiley Mitchell, who scored six points along with four steals. Maleigha Younkin was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with 11 rebounds.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area now has a losing record at 7-8. As for Bishop Walsh, their win bumped their record up to 2-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turkeyfoot Valley Area will take on Blacklick Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bishop Walsh, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Northern at 6:00 p.m. Northern is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road.
