Preview: Everett Warriors vs. Tussey Mountain Titans
The Everett Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Tussey Mountain Titans at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Everett came tearing into last Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Northern Bedford County by a score of 59-48.
Cloe Price continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. She has been hot recently, having posted 16 or more points the last eight times she's played. Morgan Bowser was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Meanwhile, Tussey Mountain scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They walked away with a 61-53 win over Southern Fulton.
Tussey Mountain found their leader in underclassman Karah Husick, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Husick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Cara Benton, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Everett pushed their record up to 13-6 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.7 points per game. As for Tussey Mountain, their victory bumped their record up to 12-7.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Everett have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 31.3 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Tussey Mountain struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.3 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Everett skirted past Tussey Mountain 42-39 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Everett since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
