Basketball Recap: Pomona Catholic Comes Up Short

Pomona Catholic was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They fell 34-27 to the San Gorgonio Spartans.

Leading San Gorgonio to victory were Jazmin Benson and Star Ramos. Benson posted eight points along with ten boards and eight steals, while Ramos had 14 points and five steals. Benson has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played.

Pomona Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for San Gorgonio, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-8.

Pomona Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 39-12 defeat against St. Lucy's on the 21st. As for San Gorgonio, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 33-29 loss against South El Monte on the 21st.
