Basketball Recap: Crooked Oak Comes Up Short

Crooked Oak suffered their closest loss since January 30, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Douglass Trojans by a score of 34-32. The match marked the Ruf-Nex's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Despite the loss, Crooked Oak still got an impressive performance from Jamel Morris, who posted 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks gave Morris a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Elijah Garcia, who put up five points.

Crooked Oak has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-5 record this season. As for Douglass, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-6.
