Baseball Recap: Knott County Central Comes Up Short

After flying high against Shelby Valley on Tuesday, Knott County Central came back down to earth. The Patriots took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Belfry Pirates on Thursday. The Patriots were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pirates earlier this season, when they won 10-0.

Knott County Central saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mason Amburgey, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Michael Parks was another, going 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Knott County Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 19-12-1 record this season. As for Belfry, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season.

Knott County Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 11-9 victory against Floyd Central on the 15th. As for Belfry, they have also already played their next matchup, a 12-11 loss against Prestonsburg on the 15th.
