Eaton of Colorado closing in on all-time record for consecutive wins.
Sometime around the first week of May, high school baseball could have a
new all-time consecutive wins leader. That's when
Eaton (Colo.) could
surpass the record of 89 straight wins set by
Portsmouth (N.H.) from
2008 to 2012.
Eaton has been down this road before. In 2010, the Reds had a 60-game win streak that came to an end with a loss in early
May to
Forge Christian (Arvada). Eaton had not lost a game since 2008 during
that streak.
Last year's Eaton squad finished 28-0 after going 29-0 the year before. Eaton also won 12 games to finish the
2022 season and has won three straight Class 3A state championships in
Colorado. The Reds will need to replace 22 pitching wins from last year
along with the top six offensive players.

Portsmouth's
win streak nearly came to an end in 2023 when
St. Mary's Prep (Orchard Lake, Mich.) was winning back-to-back state championships, as well as a
national championship in 2022. However the Eaglets saw their streak fall
five games short at 84 in a row.
Eaton's 69-game streak is the
sixth-longest in history. The Reds are one game away from
tying
La Cueva (Albuquerque, N.M.), which set the record in 2005 with 70
in a row. They are five away from No. 4
Homer (Mich.), which broke La
Cueva's record later that year in 2005 with 75 in a row.
No other schools are within 38 wins of Eato.
Tomball (Texas) and
Virgin Valley (Mesquite, Nev.) are tied for second with 31 in a row.
Following are all teams that begin the 2025 season with 15 or more consecutive wins based on games reported to MaxPreps.
