Baseball Recap: Eureka Wins Going Away Against Fieldcrest

Eureka never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Fieldcrest Knights. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Teagan McLaughlin made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Eureka is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 6-9 otherwise. McLaughlin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, John Martin was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Keegan Myers was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Eureka now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Fieldcrest, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 8-10 record.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Eureka will challenge Brimfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fieldcrest, they will take on Serena at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
