Soccer Game Preview: Hilmar vs. Ripon Christian

The Hilmar Yellowjackets are taking a road trip to challenge the Ripon Christian Knights at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Hilmar is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Ripon on Thursday. Hilmar lost 3-0 to Ripon.

Meanwhile, Ripon Christian came up short against Sonora on Friday, falling 6-1.

Ripon Christian's goal came courtesy of Addison Dejong, who's now up to six this season.

Ripon Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5-1. As for Hilmar, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1-1 and their overall record down to 10-4-3.

Hilmar beat Ripon Christian by a goal when the teams last played back in December of 2024, winning 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hilmar since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
