Calhoun and Heritage are an even 4-4 against one another since September of 2015, but likely not for long. The Yellow Jackets will be playing at home against the Generals at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

The home team had won the previous seven meetings between Calhoun and North Murray, and Calhoun kept the tradition alive. The Yellow Jackets came out on top against the Mountaineers by a score of 8-4 on Friday. The Yellow Jackets haven't had any issues with the Mountaineers recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Heritage gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Lakeview-Fort Oglethorpe as they made off with a 12-2 win.

Bailee Hollis was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Hollis was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in August of 2024.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Collins Fletcher, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Landry White was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in six consecutive games dating back to last season.

Calhoun might still be hurting after the 18-5 loss they got from Heritage in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Yellow Jackets avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
