Football Game Preview: Albuquerque Bulldogs vs. La Cueva Bears

Albuquerque is 0-7 against La Cueva since September of 2017 but things could change on Saturday. The Bulldogs will host the Bears at 11:00 a.m.

Albuquerque is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Sandia, who was ranked 20th at the time (Albuquerque was ranked 25th). The Bulldogs came up short against the Matadors on Friday, falling 38-14. The matchup was a 14-14 toss-up at halftime, but the Bulldogs couldn't quite close it out.

Albuquerque's loss came about despite a quality game from Alberto Landeros, who rushed for 84 yards and one touchdown.

Albuquerque didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of James Montano and Raul Betancourt.

Meanwhile, La Cueva waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They breezed past the Demons to the tune of 55-0. The Bears' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Albuquerque's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for La Cueva, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
