Baseball Recap: Jimtown Wins Going Away Against Concord

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Niles, Jimtown was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Concord Minutemen 11-1. The Jimmies have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Minutemen, too.

Dalton Cook made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Jimtown is 4-2 when he allows at most two walks, but 7-9 otherwise. Cook was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brodric Kaler, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Collin Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Jimtown always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The last time their OBP was this high was back in May of 2025.

The win got Jimtown back to even at 11-11. As for Concord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 16-7.

Looking ahead, Jimtown will face off against Wawasee at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Concord, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Lakeland on the 23rd.
