Football Game Preview: Minneota Vikings vs. Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks

Minneota has gone 9-1 against Dawson-Boyd recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Vikings will look to defend their home field against the Blackjacks at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

The home team had come away the winner the last five times Minneota and Yellow Medicine East had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Vikings blew past the Sting, posting a 75-6 win. Given the Vikings' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota football rankings (they are ranked 28th, while the Sting are ranked 258th) , the win on Thursday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Dawson-Boyd had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They claimed a resounding 42-15 victory over the Lakers.

Dawson-Boyd's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Minneota, their victory bumped their record up to 7-0.

Everything came up roses for Minneota against Dawson-Boyd when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 54-0 win. Will the Vikings repeat their success, or do the Blackjacks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
