If Pearl wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Northwest Rankin, they should've done a better job of containing Jermany Hayden. The Cougars secured a 33-29 W over the Pirates on Friday for which the team can thank Hayden, who rushed for 144 yards and three scores. He has become a key player for Northwest Rankin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.

Northwest Rankin now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Pearl, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season.

Northwest Rankin will be playing at home against Meridian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 35.71 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Pearl, they will head out on the road to square off against Petal at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
