Preview: Liberty Ranch Hawks vs. Laguna Creek Cardinals
Liberty Ranch has been on the road for six straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Laguna Creek Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Liberty Ranch is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Laguna Creek in California (Liberty Ranch is ranked 93rd, while Laguna Creek is ranked 567th).
Even though Liberty Ranch has not done well against Cordova recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Liberty Ranch came out on top against Cordova by a score of 45-34.
Liberty Ranch's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haley Smith, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Smith has scored at least 25% of Liberty Ranch's points. Madisyn Robbins was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 7 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Laguna Creek's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Franklin at home and fell 62-25.
Their wins bumped Liberty Ranch to 5-1 and Cordova to 3-5.
