Baseball Game Preview: Jenkins County War Eagles vs. Portal Panthers

The Jenkins County War Eagles will head out on the road to take on the Portal Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Jenkins County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Tuesday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Metter hit Jenkins County with a seven-run fifth inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The War Eagles lost 9-2 to the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Portal fell victim to Islands and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They came up short against the Sharks, falling 15-0.

Jenkins County's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Portal, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Jenkins County beat Portal 6-3 in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Will the War Eagles repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
