Recap: Menlo School Knights vs. Vanden Vikings
The Menlo School Knights were the 53-46 winner over the Vanden Vikings when they last played one another back in January of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. Menlo School took a 64-45 bruising from Vanden on Saturday. Menlo School has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Menlo School's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Arthi Abhyanker, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Ruiqi Liu, who scored 15 points.
Menlo School struggled to work together and finished the game with only four assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Menlo School has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Vanden, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Menlo School will take on Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Notre Dame is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for Vanden, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wood will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 524th, while Vanden is ranked 144th).
