Soccer Recap: Calvary Chapel Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fullerton, Calvary Chapel was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Westminster Lions by a score of 2-0. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Katelyn Newman and Frankie Rivera scored both of Calvary Chapel's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 19 goals.

Calvary Chapel's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-9-1. As for Westminster, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-6-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Calvary Chapel will welcome Santa Ana at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Westminster, they will be playing at home against Garden Grove at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Garden Grove is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 2.9 goals per game this season.
