Football Recap: Shady Spring Tigers vs. Winfield Generals

After flying high against Liberty last Friday, Shady Spring came back down to earth. The Tigers came up short against the Winfield Generals on Friday, falling 39-13.

Gannon Boggs had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 104 yards and a pair of touchdowns for Winfield. Boggs has become a key player for the Generals: the team is undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise. Drew Mann also helped out with an impressive 83 receiving yards.

Shady Spring's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Winfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shady Spring will face off against Berkeley Springs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Indians at the right time seeing as the Indians are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Winfield, they will square off against Nitro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Generals will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least 31 points in their last four contests.
