Basketball Recap: St. Hubert Catholic for Girls Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Saige Primavera and Luca D'andrea

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against the West Catholic Burrs, falling 63-43. St. Hubert Catholic for Girls was not able to make up for their defeat to West Catholic from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Luca D'Andrea and Saige Primavera certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. D'Andrea went 6 for 11 en route to 16 points along with eight rebounds and four steals, while Primavera posted 16 points and three steals. That was a full 37.2% of St. Hubert Catholic for Girls' points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.

Ciana Blake had a dynamite game for West Catholic, putting up 16 points in addition to five assists and four steals. That's the most assists Blake has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Nyla Coleman, who had 14 points.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls now has a losing record at 6-7. As for West Catholic, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-7.

St. Hubert Catholic for Girls has already played their next match (against Neumann-Goretti), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. West Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Archbishop Molloy at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
