Basketball Recap: Ramona Rams vs. Norte Vista Braves
The Ramona Rams waltzed into their game on Tuesday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They really took it to Norte Vista for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-33 victory on the road. Ramona has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 22 points or more this season.
Ramona's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Olivia Molina, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 18 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Athena Berber, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 12 rebounds.
Ramona has been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-10 record this season. As for Norte Vista, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-13.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ramona's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on February 1st. Patriot is on a four-game streak of home wins, the Rams a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Norte Vista, they will head out on the road to face off against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hillcrest has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
