Basketball Preview: Ligonier Valley Rams vs. Mt. Pleasant Vikings
Ligonier Valley is 1-7 against the Vikings since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Ligonier Valley Rams will head out on the road to challenge the Mt. Pleasant Vikings at 7:15 p.m. Ligonier Valley is no doubt hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 59-28, which was the final score in Ligonier Valley's tilt against the Bucs on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Ligonier Valley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 505th, while the Bucs are ranked 206th).
While Mt. Pleasant's win against the Gators wasn't quite the blowout they won the last time the pair played, they still came away the winners. Mt. Pleasant skirted past the Gators 42-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Mt. Pleasant.
Ligonier Valley has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season. As for Mt. Pleasant, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.
Ligonier Valley came up short against the Vikings in their previous matchup back in January, falling 35-31. Can Ligonier Valley avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
