Soccer Game Preview: St. Monica Academy vs. Mary Star of the Sea

The St. Monica Academy Crusaders will start their season against the Mary Star of the Sea Stars. Kickoff is scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Mary Star of the Sea took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand Ramona Convent a 2-0 shutout.

Mary Star of the Sea's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-3.

As for St. Monica Academy, they've got a clean slate this season. Last year, they finished on the wrong side of .500 (0-1), but they'll be hoping to turn things around this year.
