Softball Game Preview: Pinewood Christian Patriots vs. Richmond Hill Wildcats

The Pinewood Christian Patriots will square off against the Richmond Hill Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pinewood Christian will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

While Pinewood Christian's win against Claxton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Patriots won by a run and slipped past the Tigers 12-11.

Meanwhile, Richmond Hill fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Long County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Blue Tide by a score of 2-1. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

A Williams spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Richmond Hill saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Maggie Reynolds, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases. Ashella Matias also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Richmond Hill's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Pinewood Christian, the victory got them back to even at 10-10.
