Baseball Recap: Cedar Grove Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Cedar Grove had to endure an eight-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on the Stone Mountain Pirates with a sharp 19-4 win on Monday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Saints also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2019.

Santos Clark was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Clark was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

In other batting news, Javaire Brown was a standout: he scored three runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He also put up an RBI, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brendon Flounory, who scored a run and stole Four bases. while going 3-for-4.

Cedar Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .833. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
