Softball Recap: Ottumwa Picks Up Sixth Straight Win on the Road

While Ottumwa didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-24), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They blew past the Mason City Mohawks 13-6 on Thursday. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Ottumwa's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-5. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Mason City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-10.

Ottumwa has already played their next contest, an 11-1 loss against Norwalk on the 21st. As for Mason City, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-1 defeat against Decorah-North Winneshiek on the 20th.
