Baseball Game Preview: Towns County Indians vs. Murphy Bulldogs

The Towns County Indians will venture away from home to challenge the Murphy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Towns County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past three games, but Monday's contest will give them a chance to turn things around.

Towns County fell victim to Lake Oconee Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Titans, falling 16-0. Considering the last time the Indians couldn't score was back in February, the team can't take the result too hard.

Meanwhile, Murphy beat Robbinsville 9-4 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Murphy let Peyton Bain and Aayden Williams run wild. Bain scored a run while going 2-for-4, while Williams scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Adam Cook was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.

They weren't the only one making solid contact: Murphy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in February.

Towns County's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Murphy, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.

Towns County took their win against Murphy in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
