Basketball Recap: Fontana Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Fontana can now relate to. The matchup between them and the Brea Olinda Wildcats didn't end well, with the Fontana Steelers falling 49-31. While losing is never fun, the Steelers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while the Wildcats are ranked 164th).

Brea Olinda got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Sarah Wang out in front who posted 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Liz Han, who scored 16 points.

Fontana's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Brea Olinda, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-10.

Fontana does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Brea Olinda, they will challenge Oak Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Oak Hills will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Brea Olinda surely won't give up without a fight.
