Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Pleasant Valley

Pleasant Valley barely beat Urbandale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the J-Hawks on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won eight contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The win (which was Pleasant Valley's third in a row) raised their record to 16-4. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Urbandale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 13 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Pleasant Valley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 6-0 defeat against Northwest on the 20th. As for Urbandale, they have also already played their next contest, a 7-1 win against Bondurant-Farrar on the 20th.
