Softball Recap: Collinsville Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Collinsville had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 7-19 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 12-9 victory over the Bixby Spartans. For the Cardinals, this counts as revenge for the 11-0 win the Spartans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in August of 2024.

As for Bixby, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-16. Those defeats can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games.

For Bixby's part, Heidi Gruenwald and Emme Friedrichsen did some serious damage despite the final result: Gruenwald went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Friedrichsen went 3-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Howard, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Collinsville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bixby, they will challenge Durant at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
