Baseball Recap: Ellsworth Comes Up Short

Ellsworth was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They fell 7-2 to the St. Mary Cathedral Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 9-2 two weeks ago.

Ellsworth saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Trey Hickman, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

Ellsworth's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for St. Mary Cathedral, they pushed their record up to 15-2 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Ellsworth will welcome Central Lake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Mary Cathedral, they are taking a road trip to square off against Inland Lakes at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
