            Softball Preview: Duluth Wildcats vs. Lambert Longhorns        
        
		
        
        
            The Duluth Wildcats will venture away from home to  face off against the Lambert Longhorns  at 5:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
Duluth made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Mill Creek, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Wildcats fell just short of the Hawks by a score of  6-4 on Tuesday.
  Kaylie Zirger made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and  went 2-for-4 with two  doubles, two  RBI,  and one  run.
Meanwhile, Lambert never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They didn't even let North Atlanta on the board, marking the Longhorns' second-straight  8-0 shutout. The Longhorns might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by eight  runs or more this season.
  Olivia Cantarutti was  incredible,  going 3-for-4 with two  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in September.  Katia Castillo was another key player,  going 1-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 Lambert has  been performing  well recently as they've  won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-11 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Duluth, their defeat was  their third straight on the road, which  dropped their record down to 11-13.
 Duluth might still be hurting after the  8-0 loss they got from Lambert  in their previous matchup  back in September of 2020. Can the Wildcats avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
