Softball Recap: Westside Patriots vs. Cross Creek Razorbacks
Westside extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 2-7. They lost 20-0 to the Cross Creek Razorbacks. The Patriots were not able to make up for their defeat to the Razorbacks from their previous meeting back in September of 2024.
As for Cross Creek, their win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For Cross Creek's part, Paityn Oglesby was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Oglesby has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Brylyn Dressel was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in August of 2024. Maddison Robertson was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
