Softball Recap: Brookstone Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Westfield School, Brookstone was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the St. Anne-Pacelli Vikings, sneaking past 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cougars have posted since August 21st.

The team relied heavily on Camille Hargrove, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.

Brookstone was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Brookstone's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-5. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

Brookstone will be playing at home against Strong Rock Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. Anne-Pacelli, they will head out on the road to face off against Manchester at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
