It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but LaGrange had no problem doing just that on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Gilmer Bobcats a 12-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Grangers, who have now won 12 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

LaGrange is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.7 runs over those games. As for Gilmer, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: LaGrange beat the Bobcats by a score of 11-1 later that day.
