Softball Recap: Columbus Starts Season with Win on the Road

Columbus had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. Everything went their way against the Lincoln North Star Navigators as they made off with a 20-8 win. This was payback for the Discoverers, who suffered a 13-9 loss the last time these two teams met.

Columbus got a massive performance out of Gracie Bos, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and one triple while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Alayna Kudron, who went 4-for-6 with three runs, three doubles, and four RBI.

Columbus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .512. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln North Star only posted a batting average of .323.

Coming up, Columbus will venture away from home to take on Lincoln Southwest at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lincoln North Star, they will challenge Blair at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
