Recap: Foothill Knights vs. El Modena Vanguards
The Foothill Knights had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat El Modena 52-23 on the road. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Foothill also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Foothill's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jay Perez, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds. Perez is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 13 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Elize McAveney, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Foothill's win ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-12. As for El Modena, their loss dropped their record down to 12-6.
Foothill will be playing in front of their home fans against Esperanza at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Esperanza is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for El Modena, they will take on Yorba Linda at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Yorba Linda is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games.
