Recap: Southwestern Academy Sun vs. New Harvest Christian Warriors
The Southwestern Academy Sun lost against the New Harvest Christian Warriors back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Southwestern Academy was dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of New Harvest Christian. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Southwestern Academy in their matchups with New Harvest Christian: they've now lost five in a row.
Despite the loss, Southwestern Academy still got an impressive performance from Valza Jusufi, who scored six points along with 17 rebounds. Jusufi scored a full 42.9% of Southwestern Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Even though they lost, Southwestern Academy were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Southwestern Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for New Harvest Christian, the win got them back to even at 2-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwestern Academy will challenge Sequoyah School at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. New Harvest Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Mesrobian at 4:00 p.m. on January 11th.
