Niwot had lost three games on the road, but after bumping their record up to 6-6 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They put the hurt on the Monarch Coyotes with a sharp 11-2 victory. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won four contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Mandy Roth spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on 12 hits and racked up six Ks.
At the plate, Anna Halverson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Camryn Legh also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
As for Monarch, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
On Monarch's side, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Harper Lastick, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Niwot has already played their next game, an 11-5 defeat against Horizon on the 18th. As for Monarch, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 loss against Broomfield on the 18th.
