Baseball Game Preview: Wheeler County Bulldogs vs. Dublin Fighting Irish

Wheeler County and Dublin are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2018, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Fighting Irish at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wheeler County made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Clinch County, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bulldogs put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 11-1 victory on Tuesday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Bulldogs' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Dublin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Bleckley County on Thursday, sneaking past 7-5. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Fighting Irish as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Tyrese Robinson was incredible, going 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Jeff Davis was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Wheeler County has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Dublin, their win bumped their record up to 14-9.
