Soccer Game Preview: Cypress vs. Canyon

The Cypress Centurions will face off against the Canyon Comanches at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cypress' last four games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Thursday, Cypress didn't have quite enough to beat Crean Lutheran and fell 2-1. One thing that didn't help the Centurions' chances was the red card they were dealt courtesy of Breana Gaytan.

Cypress' goal came courtesy of Makayaden Vazquez, who's now up to five this season.

Meanwhile, Canyon had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They never let the Mustangs onto the board and left with a 1-0 win. Given the Comanches' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 43rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 388th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Cypress now has a losing record at 2-3-4. As for Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 7-1-1.
