Football Recap: Wyatt Mckenzie and Jake Garza Secure Win for O'connor

O'Connor's game on October 2nd was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 24-7 victory over the Marshall Rams. The Panthers have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rams, too.

O'Connor was led to victory by Jake Garza and Wyatt McKenzie. Garza rushed for 39 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while McKenzie rushed for 105 yards and one score. That's the most rushing yards Garza has posted since back in October of 2024.

O'Connor didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Marshall to a completion percentage of just 38.9%. The Panthers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 64.7%.

O'Connor moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Marshall, they dropped their record down to 0-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

Coincidentally, O'Connor and Marshall will both be playing Holmes the next time they take the field. The Panthers will host the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Rams will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
