Football Game Preview: Mt. Pleasant Tigers vs. South Oak Cliff Bears + How To Watch

The Mt. Pleasant Tigers will take on the South Oak Cliff Bears at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Mt. Pleasant sitting on four straight wins and South Oak Cliff on nine.

Mt. Pleasant is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They walked away with a 48-38 victory over Montgomery.

Mt. Pleasant can attribute much of their success to Carter Cook, who threw for 326 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also punched in one TD on the ground. What's more, Cook racked up 13 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.

Mt. Pleasant didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Montgomery to a completion percentage of just 45.8%. The Tigers weren't nearly as limited: they posted one of 60.6%.

Meanwhile, South Oak Cliff was fully in charge on Thursday, breezing past Crandall 49-18. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 35-10.

South Oak Cliff's win came from a few key players Mt. Pleasant will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Levon Morton, who rushed for 146 yards and two scores on only 12 carries. South Oak Cliff also got help from Torrin Teague, who showed off his sure hands for 155 receiving yards.

Mt. Pleasant's record now sits at 5-6. As for South Oak Cliff, their record is now 10-1.
