Basketball Game Preview: Palm Springs Indians vs. Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs

The Palm Springs Indians just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Coachella Valley is hoping to do what Norco couldn't on Tuesday: put an end to Palm Springs' winning streak, which now stands at five games. Everything went Palm Springs' way against Norco as Palm Springs made off with a 40-16 win. While the Indians didn't have the best season last year (they finished 9-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Palm Springs got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Eiresslee Wells out in front who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 14 boards. Wells is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down 11 or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aja Walker, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Coachella Valley). They blew past Desert Hot Springs 62-21 on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Mighty Arabs sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Palm Springs' win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points per game. As for Coachella Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Palm Springs strolled past Coachella Valley in their previous meeting back in November of 2023 by a score of 50-32. Will Palm Springs repeat their success, or does Coachella Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
