Soccer Game Preview: San Rafael vs. Tamalpais

San Rafael hasn't had much luck against Tamalpais recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The San Rafael Bulldogs are taking a road trip to face off against the Tamalpais Red Tailed Hawks at 3:15 p.m.

Friday just wasn't the day for San Rafael's offense. They lost 7-0 to Branson on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 551st, while the Bulls are ranked 51st).

Meanwhile, Tamalpais won against Branson on Wednesday with two goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Saturday. Tamalpais won by a goal and slipped past Colfax 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Tailed Hawks.

Addie Covey was the driving force of Tamalpais' attack as she scored both of Tamalpais' goals, bringing her season total up to 11 goals.

San Rafael's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5. As for Tamalpais, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3-5 record this season.

San Rafael might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Tamalpais in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can San Rafael avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
