Basketball Recap: La Serna Triumphs

La Serna posted their closest victory since February 8, 2024 on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Santa Fe Chiefs 43-40. This was a revenge game for the Lancers: when they faced off against the Chiefs two weeks ago, they had to take a 49-43 loss.

Santa Fe's loss came despite strong showings from Abigail Cetina and Roxy Beltran. Cetina dropped a double-double on ten points and 20 boards, while Beltran posted ten points and six steals. Santa Fe is 18-2 when Cetina posts ten or more rebounds, but 2-3 otherwise.

La Serna has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-10 record this season. As for Santa Fe, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 20-5.

As of now, neither La Serna nor Santa Fe have any future games scheduled.
