Basketball Recap: Seneca's Winning Streak Snapped at Eight Games

After a string of eight wins, Seneca's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell to the Northwestern Wildcats 41-35. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 39-29 back in January.

Makayla Presser-Palmer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Northwestern, dropping a double-double on 17 points and 19 boards. That makes it 20 consecutive games in which Presser-Palmer has scored at least a third of Northwestern's points. Another player making a difference was Courtney Eddy, who posted ten points and three steals.

Seneca's defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for Northwestern, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 20-0.

Seneca and Northwestern should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. Seneca will challenge Girard at 7:30 p.m. on Monday up 392 places (186 vs. 578). Seneca is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. Meanwhile, Northwestern (ranked 60th) will meet Iroquois (ranked 689th) at 7:15 p.m. on Monday.
